How do you ship cargo to Ghana from the UK?
Two routes, one depot. Sea freight through the Port of Tema is the economical choice for barrels, “Ghana Must Go” bags, boxes, furniture, vehicles and full 20ft/40ft containers — Tema is one of West Africa's best-run ports with frequent sailings. Air freight into Accra (Kotoka) is for urgent, fragile or high-value items, landing in days. We handle LCL/groupage and FCL, collecting from anywhere in the UK into our Dagenham depot.
How long does shipping from the UK to Ghana take?
Sea cargo to Tema typically takes 4–6 weeks port-to-port plus inland delivery; air freight to Accra is usually a few working days. We quote a realistic window per shipment and keep you posted as the cargo moves.
What does it cost to ship to Ghana?
Air freight is £5.90 per kg plus a £20 handling charge. Sea cargo starts from £70 per bag and varies with volume — call or email for a quote. Car shipping (UK→Ghana) and 20ft/40ft containers are quote-only. All priced all-in, in GBP — no surprise charges billed to your family at the Ghanaian end.
Door-to-door delivery in Ghana
We collect from any UK address into our Dagenham depot, ship, clear customs and deliver to the recipient's door — Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi, Tamale and beyond. Prefer to drop off with us and have family collect at the other end? That works too.
Ghana customs — CTN & clearance
Imports into Ghana require a CTN (Cargo Tracking Note, also known locally as ASHI/UCR) raised before the vessel sails, plus the commercial documentation. Duty and VAT are assessed on arrival through the ICUMS/UNIPASS system. We prepare the CTN and paperwork so your cargo isn't held, and advise on restricted items before you ship.
