Rolats ships cargo from Nigeria to the UK by sea via Lagos (Apapa/Tin Can) and by air via Lagos (MMIA) and Abuja: personal effects, commercial goods and documents, collected in Nigeria and delivered door-to-door to any UK address from our Dagenham base. We clear UK import customs (EORI, import VAT and duty) so cargo isn't held. Car shipping is UK to Nigeria only.

How do you ship from Nigeria to the UK?

Sea freight from Lagos is the cost-effective route for bags, barrels, boxes, furniture and commercial pallets, ideal when timing is flexible. Air freight from Lagos (Murtala Muhammed) or Abuja is for urgent, fragile, high-value goods and documents, reaching the UK in days. We arrange collection in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and beyond, consolidate at origin, and run the shipment through to door delivery anywhere in the UK.

What can you send from Nigeria to the UK?

Personal effects and household removals, commercial stock and trade cargo, and business or legal documents. Bags, barrels and boxes go by sea; time-sensitive items by air.

  • Personal effects and household removals
  • Commercial stock and trade cargo
  • Business and legal documents

Car shipping is the exception: Rolats carries vehicles UK to Nigeria only, so cars are not shipped on the Nigeria to UK return.

How long does it take?

Air freight from Lagos or Abuja typically reaches the UK in a few working days. Sea freight from Lagos runs several weeks port-to-port plus UK inland delivery. We give a realistic window per shipment once we have your origin city and cargo details.

UK import customs: what you need

Cargo from Nigeria clears UK customs (HMRC) on arrival. Commercial consignments generally need a GB EORI, and import VAT and duty may apply by goods type and value. As an HMRC Customs Authorised forwarder with its own EORI, Rolats prepares the import paperwork and advises on restricted items (including certain foods) before you ship.

What does it cost?

Air freight £5.90/kg plus £20 handling; sea freight from £70/bag, quoted all-in, in GBP. Send your origin city in Nigeria, item list and UK delivery address for an exact quote.
